RESTAURANTS IN CAPE GIRARDEAU- THEY JUST KEEP COMING...
New Lion's Choice in Cape Girardeau Now Open More than 100 places to eat in Cape County alone and more are coming! Recent openings include St. Louis based Lion's Choice with one of their newest franchised units outside the St. Louis metropolitan area at the corner of Route K & Siemers Drive in Cape Girardeau, just off of the interstate 55 interchange. The site was formerly a Hardee's. Bob Evans Restaurant will open soon on the other side of the interchange next to Ryan's Steakhouse. The Bob Evans chain operates more than 430 units nationwide and is headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. The family oriented eatery will join other franchises in the immediate area including Red Lobster, Cracker Barrel, Ruby Tuesday's, Burger King and Pizza Inn, just to name a few. Rumors have it that Logan's Roadhouse, the "peanuts-on-the-floor" steakhouse is looking very strongly at the Cape Market as well as their rival, Lone Star Steakhouse. Denny's has unofficially been announced as the purchaser of the former closed Shoney's Restaurant property located at William & West Drive, however no corporate news release has been received at this time. In downtown Cape Girardeau, work progresses (ever so slowly for many) on what will be Southeast Missouri's first micro-brewery establishment. To be located in the historic Bucker's building at Main and Broadway, just a stone's throw from the Mississippi River. Because of Cape Girardeau's regional setting, it is a given that it will continue to be evaluated by other food franchise chains as well as independent operators. |
