PAVESTONE COMPANY TO BUILD PLANT HERE...
Construction on New Cape Pavestone Plant Over 40 employees to start and about 100 truckloads of finished products a day will be shipped says the spokesmen for Pavestone Company, a Dallas company who is the largest producer of interlocking concrete paving stones and retaining walls. Site and foundation work is progressing on their new manufacturing facility to be located on a multi-acre parcel on the east side of Interstate 55 directly across from the Cape Girardeau Regional Airport. The property was purchased from the Seven Thirty Industrial Park, headed by Gene Rhodes and already home to several other new businesses. A spokesman for the landscape product manufacturer said most of the jobs will be filled from the local labor force, including some key supervisory and administrative positions. Pavestone Company was founded in 1980 and now has locations in 33 states with annual sales in excess of $100 million annually. Other new manufacturing sites are also being planned on both the east and west coast. Cape Girardeau was selected because it's excellent workforce reputation, closeness to raw products for manufacturing (aggregate, cement and sand) and central location to it's existing and planned distributors and dealers in the Midwest. The company plans to open operations by the spring. |
