CHILDREN'S BAZAAR
WILL CLOSE AT CROSSROADS...
Independence & N. Kingshighway - Cape Girardeau
A Cape Girardeau icon for many years and one of the last independent specialty children's clothing stores in the Southeast Missouri region, Children's Bazaar announced that they will close their doors.
Judy Wilferth, who owned and actively managed the successful operation stated that even though they had some interested parties in acquiring the store, she and he husband Rock Wilferth settled on closing it. Located in the 1970's in the Town Plaza Shopping Center, the Wilferth's built the Crossroad's Center in recent years and made the 5,000 square foot specialty store the centerpiece of the multi-tenanted neighborhood center.
A.G. Edwards, an investment brokerage company that has been located for many years in the Crossroads will enlarge their operation and take over the prime space formerly occupied by Children's Bazaar. Crossroads is located at the intersection of Independence and Kingshighway. The location is directly across from the recently opened Albertson's Store.
