NARS CALL CENTER MEANS 300 CAPE JOBS
Chris Buehrle, who originally grew up in Cape Girardeau, left the area to eventually become President and CEO of a successful outsourcing call center recently announced that his company NARS, which stands for National Asset Recovery Service, Inc. will open a call center in Cape Girardeau resulting in 300 new jobs to start.
Buehrele's St. Louis-based NARS is a business process outsource company began in 1993 as a collection agency. Eventually the company expanded into a call center outsourcing firm. NARS also has an facility in Panama City, Panama with 1,100-employees and more than 1,000 employees at a center in Montego Bay, Jamaica. The new Cape Girardeau operation will be their largest domestic operation thus far.
With customer service contracts with both Sprint and Charter Communications, NARS will utilitize approximately 40,000 square feet in the former Sears building on William Street. Since the remodeling effort for the Sears building will take several months, NARS has contracted to set up temporarily in Auburn Park Place near West Park Mall with 150 employees, said Mitch Robinson, executive director of Cape Area Magnet. Recent job fairs in Cape Girardeau induced the company to proceed ahead with plans to locate here. Company officials said over 800 were interested in applying for positions with the company.
