Southeast Missouri will be able to enjoy the great outdoors in the planned conservation campus to be located within the Cape Girardeau County Park property located on N. Kingshighway near Interstate 55 within the city limits of Cape Girardeau. The $7.3 million dollar project includes a conservation campus on 50 acres of forest with a 20,000 square foot building, trails, a marsh development and a replica of a trapper's cabin in the already existing park in Cape Girardeau. Landscaped grounds, interactive exhibits and a 75-seat amphitheater also are part of the plan. The park property already has fishing lakes, picnic shelters. The state and county funded facility is expected to attract a number of local and regional visitors each year. Construction is well underway. To Contact Tom Kelsey: tom@tomkelsey.com
