OLIVE GARDEN RESTAURANT
TO OPEN IN CAPE GIRARDEAU
William Street & I-55 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri
Many Southeast Missourian's have long awaited the announcement that Olive Garden would locate here. Construction is ongoing on the Olive Garden that is expected to open sometime in the first quarter of 2006.
The restaurant is being built on William Street, just east of the Interstate Route "K" interchange. The property was made available when the Holiday Inn was razed last year to make room for several restaurant sites. Panera Bread is being built next door to the Olive Garden on one of the available sites.
Darden Restaurants, Inc headquartered in Orlando Florida will own and operate the eatery. Darden has over 1,390 Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Bahama Breeze, Sokey Bones and Seasons 52 restaurants nationwide. Annual sales of $5.3 billion is reported.
